Connections to the real world

This week our big book is called 'Eggs, Eggs, Eggs'. Our poem is also called Eggs and you can see this on our classroom blog.

To connect our learning to the real world we had a special treat today! We went and met Mr McAven down at the chickens and he showed us the chicken tractor.

This is when the chickens go into a special area and pick through the dirt to churn it up just like a tractor would.

Mr McAven showed us where the chicken's feathers had been cut so they do not fly away.

  1. This is fantastic learning. Chickens are really interesting, aren't they? I love the way they talk to each other! Andrea (Matthew's mum)
